Skip or a Swimming Pool?
Family-run firm Scott Bros converted a skip into a makeshift swimming pool by lining it with plastic sheeting and filling it with cold water.
Director Peter Scott said: “It beats a hot tub in this kind of weather and in the circumstances we didn’t mind staff ‘skip-ping’ work for a while to cool down. We may even start a new trend for cold water swimming!”
Neil Crawford, one of the machine operators at the Stockton-on-Tees recycling firm, said: “We are happy to do our jobs despite the heat, but this swimming pool is a proper treat. It’s almost as good as being in Benidorm!”
